Jay Leno vs. Conan O'Brien

When I first heard about this I really could belive NBC. I mean come on, did you really think moving Jay to an earlier time-slot was going to work? I used to watch Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien way before they were even thinking about moving them around, and it really worked for me. But when they moved Jay's show to an earlier time, the show just really got bad. But i still watched Conan and everything was as good as ever. Now with this whole trying to get his old time back, if I were Conan I wouldn't be a happy camper either.

NBC is just being rediculous if they are really willing to lose Conan to keep Jay happy. In my opinion, Conan is the funniest late-night talk show host. And he has been ever since he has been on the air. If they do lose Conan and he moves for FOX or something else, I'm sure that they will regret it later. Right now nothing has been made official but I'm seriously hoping they keep Conan.

TEAM CONAN ALL THE WAY!

The Twilight Saga: New Moon Movie Review

WARNING: There are spoilers...read at your own risk.

ACTING: In Twilight, the acting really didn't bother me as much as it did for some people. But yes the acting was pretty cheezy, and some lines that were said didn't really sound very sincere. But it is completely different in New Moon. I don't know what Chris Weitz did, but props to him. Rob did such a better job in this movie. This was the Edward Cullen I had imagined. And even though Rob wasn't in the movie much, he did very well with what he was given.

I notice many people really didn't like Kristen Stewart's acting in Twilight either. She also seemed to step it up and pulled off a great perfomance as Bella. Her depression scenes are very believable, and at times where she is writing the emails, you really get inside her head and i loved that.

Now this is the first time we really get to know much about Jacob. Since Jacob was a main character in this movie, I was expecting the best from Taylor Lautner. And I'm happy to say that he really impressed me. Not only can he play happy-go-lucky pre-transformation Jacob, but he can also play dark and disturbed post-transformation Jacob. I am really looking forward to seeing how he does in Eclipse.

So overall, the acting was extremely better.

CGI: Now all Twi-hards know that Twilight didn't have much CGI. And I think that it worked well without it for that film. But with New Moon it's kind of impossible to go without any CGI. Unless anyone knows where they can find some horse-size wolves running around? That's what I thought. When the first trailer of New Moon was released and we saw Jacob trasform into the wolf for the first time. And I personally LOVED this wolf. But then when the final version of that scene was released, they had changed the wolf, and I was  actually very mad. I mean how could they change the wolf that I had already grown to love? But after I saw the movie, and the rest of the scenes with him in wolf form, I changed my opinion. They are HUGE, like described in the book, and they also look very real. So I think that they made the right decision to change it.

Also, making Edward as an apparition, I think, was a great decision. Now I know Bella only hears Edward's voice in the book, but I think that seeing him made more of an impact. Or at least it had more of an effect on me. I really like how there was a mist to him and not all of him was shown. It looked great.

Another thing I would like to point out quickly is the vampires running. I didn't really like how they decided to do it for Twilight, so I am really glad they changed it up. It actually looks like they are running super fast. They even pan out to a bird flying slow so that you can see how fast they are really going and I really liked that shot.

COMEDY IN DRAMA: For what is supposed to be a more serious movie than Twilight, New Moon had many funny parts to it, which I think really helps lighten the mood a bit so we aren't stuck in sad mode forever. Pretty much everyone had a funny moment or two, which I really liked. I think I liked Mike's funny moments the best.

Jasper's line at the end coming in close second. By the way, Jasper, you can take a snap at me ANYTIME!

And Eric crying while watching Romeo and Juliet...priceless!

But having Edward repeat Romeo's lines...I just thought that it wasn't needed and kind of dragged on.

AWKWARD SCENES: I know that I am not the only one that thought the kissing scene at Bella's truck was kind of awkward. I mean I kind of got the noises from Edward because he is trying to resist her blood...but  Bella made some noises too and that made it sort of uncomfortable to watch.

Another scene I thought was kinda weird was in Italy. When they are going back and forth from shooting Bella running towards Edward to save him and he is taking his shirt off. In that one shot there is something really wrong with Rob's left nipple. Am I the only one that noticed how much larger and weird looking it was than his other one? Maybe I am going crazy, or more crazy than I already am. But if you happen to read this before you see the movie...look out for it. I'm telling you there is something wrong with it!

And what was with Bella throwing the pizza to Jacob? I mean really...who throws pizza?

The elevator scene at the Volturi's lair. I think that this scene was purposefully awkward, and I  laughed at it a little because of that. Plus, who knew they had elevator music? That was pretty funny also.

FAVORITE SCENES: I really did like the scenes from Bella's birthday party. After Bella gets her papercut and Jasper's attempt to attack her, all of the Cullen family looks at Bella while she is on the floor bleeding, and I thought that shot was very well done because it was actually genuinely scary. If you have not read the book and are seeing this for the first time, it makes you wonder what is going to happen.

The movie theater scenes were some of my favorites too. It looked exactly how I had pictured it, and Mike's comedy was at its best. And I loved the scene between Bella and Jacob here too. It was shorter than it I expected, but I did like it, so I was happy.

The cliff diving scene in the book was one of my favorites. Seeing her and apparition Edward in the water was probably my favorite scene/effect, and I think it was done very well. And also seeing Victoria in the water as well was awesome.

I really enjoyed the "almost kiss" scene between Jacob and Bella. I read the books, so I already knew going in that they weren't going to, but I really wanted it to happen anyway. Guess I'm just gonna have to wait for Eclipse.

During Bella's depression, the scene where the camera is spinning around her, the months are going by and the weather changing outside was really cool. And each time the camera went around, to me, Bella looked more tired than tha last time.

The Volturi were great, looked great...just how I pictured. The fight was amazing. Sort of Matrix-ish with the fast movements, but i really liked how it was done. And Edward's face cracking was cool too. I d wish that Jane had more lines though.

And last but not least, anytime they used a line from the book, I thought it was great. My favorite was Alice's "grand theft auto" line near the end. If you are a Twi-hard, you'll know what I'm talking about.

OVERALL: I give the movie a 10/10. GO SEE IT!
